I went to Yetholm Primary from 1984 until 1991 and have such fond memories. The school was modernised in "my day" and we made up a song about it which we sang at the opening ceremony. We had to go to Morebattle whilst the work was carried out which we all hated!
None of my old teachers are there any more, Mr Macgregor was our headmaster.
Great website - very important to keep people up to date in such a small village.
I hope all the pupils are working very hard to maintain Yetholm Primary School's great name!

Good Afternoon All

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms Pettigrew, all the staff and the children that we met on my short visit to " Yetholm Primary School" on the 15 June 2009 with my daughter Mary Kate and sister Mrs Anne Yeomans who still lives in Yetholm.

It brought back memories of a time past and I know that MK has a better idea of her Dad's school to take back with her to West Chester Philadelphia. I would also like to thank you for allowing me the time to review the register for the period that I went to school there, and a very remarkable ledger it is as well.

I took some pictures of the school for our album at home and the area hasn't changed at all, it's as picturesque now as it was then.

Sincerest best wishes to you all and thank you.

Dougal (Peter) Douglas (former pupil), Mary Kate (daughter) and Mrs Anne Yeomans (sister)

The Media Club is getting better and better. It was wonderful to see everyone again and I am glad you are all working hard and being happy. Have a very special Christmas,

well, well, how times change...I was the class of 1953, back in the stone-age. The classrooms didn't look so friendly back then.
Nice to know the old primary school is still going strong ....

G'day to everyone at Yetholm Primary from Flying Fish Point! Just letting you know that I've had a lovely holiday with my family and that today I'm washing curtains and cleaning up my wee hoose. It's been raining most of the time I've been home, so it feels as if I'm still living in Scotland:) The days here are starting to get longer and I guess yours are beginning to get shorter...but, who cares? It's getting closer to Christmas! The email addresses you gave me are still bobbing up and down on an ocean somewhere in a shipping container and due to arrive in Brisbane next week, so I just wanted to let you know that I miss you all and promise to contact you when I unpack. Meanwhile....lots of love

Stumbled across this web site was really pleased to read all the comments and how the young people participated in the creation of the website. What a very focussed school on ensuring young people had a say in the design .A child centreded and focussed approach.

Well done Elaine and P6 pupils for this greaaaat website. It's bright and cheery and very informative, especially if required as backup for those lost items/letters in bottoms of school bags! We will continue to keep up with the school info now that the third generation is moving onto Kelso High!! Keep up the good work.

PS Bon voyage Mrs McLeod - the school is so going to miss you.

If you think this website is great, you should visit the school itself!! I'm a Queenslander who has taught P4-7 here for the last 18months and now's my chance to tell the world what a wonderful school this is before I head home. It is an All Women Staff with the most most beautiful Headteacher who leaves no stone unturned in catering for the needs of the children here. As you can gather from the Newsletters, there is never a dull moment in any day.
Well done, Mrs Pettigrew and Primary 6 for the many hours of careful preparation that have produced this very engaging website!

Many thanks.
